ORGANIC POWDERCOATING SERVICES:

Our organic powdercoating is applied as a free-flowing fine dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating finish is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in liquid suspension form.

This powder is applied using voltage enhanced electrostatic guns that impart a static charge to the powder, allowing it to stick to the components. The powder coated material is then baked, where it melts, bonds and cures, forming a paint ‘skin’ on the product. Generally, it bakes between 180c & 200c (metal temperature).

For successful powder coating, the part must be able to withstand the required curing temperatures of approximately 180-200°C. And like most coating processes, the metal surface must be free from any surface contamination. Surfaces can be prepared for powder coating by abrasive blasting or by using chemical treatment processes. The material being coated must be electrically conductive, as it will need to be earthed to attract the electrostatically-charged powder.

Powder has a number of features that makes it an attractive all-round finish. The powder is VOC free (Volatile organic compound), and has good covering ability. It also offers a great range of textured and glossy finishes, exhibiting strong chemical resistance characteristics.

SANDBLASTING:

Sand blasting is required on all steel products that have surface rust before the powder coating process can take place. After sandblasting is completed a zinc primer is applied, once the primer is green cured at 180 deg for 1-3mins than a topcoat is applied & baked at required metal temperature.

Sand blasting is often required before the powdercoating process can take place. After sand blasting is completed, the metal object will have the surface required for the powdercoating paint to be applied.
